Meet Boudewijn
- not your ordinary psychologist.
When just talking is not enough.
Do you feel stressed or burned out? Experience tension, panic attacks or addiction? Have you lost contact with yourself, your body, mind, emotions or environment? Do you feel stuck and would you like to feel more conscious, connected, lighter and stronger - in body and mind?

Psychomotor Therapy & Haptonomy at MOViDA Therapy & Coaching could be the right thing for you. Suppressed emotions often manifest physically. Instead of only talking about your struggles (ratio/mind) this approach adds listening to your body (experiental) to your therapy. You won't be lying on the couch reflecting, but practice exercises for assertiveness, boundary setting, relaxation, breath work and activities such as boxing, sports and games. Sessions can also be conducted while walking. All to get to know and handle your emotions and bodily responses to your thoughts. I'll get things in your life moving again.

When emotions are suppressed for an extended period or not allowed to be expressed, it can lead to significant physical and mental health issues. Prolonged emotional suppression can result in stress, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. This can also make these emotions so uncomfortable that individuals turn to alcohol or drugs to numb the pain. Consequently, this behavior increases the risk of developing burnout or depression.

Suppressed emotions often manifest physically. Common symptoms include chest tension, rapid breathing or hyperventilation, panic attacks, persistent restlessness, low energy, and anxiety. While talking about these feelings is important, it is not always sufficient. To effectively reduce or resolve these symptoms, incorporating physical treatments is essential. Psychomotor Therapy is about restoring the connection between body and mind, with physical exercises and movement we discover what in your mind gets you stuck.
